KTA Architects design and completed the “The Platform” at Torquay Academy. The building offers a large multi use hall that can transform into a state of the art theatre. It also offers a large spill out space to cater for events. The remainder of the downstairs features changing rooms / dance studios which boosts the schools already extensive sports facilities.
Three state of the art classrooms can be found upstairs which benefit from brise soleil that prevent the spaces from overheating in the summer whilst still allowing natural light in. The gallery space above the theatre allows prime viewing space with a control room next door allowing students to learn how to use professional lighting & sound equipment.
