KTA was commissioned to complete a feasibility report to review different options to be taken into consideration to suit the brief and provide solutions to the future spatial demand within the existing Knowledge Spa at Royal Cornwall Hospital (RCH)
The options were developed after various meetings with RCHT and UoE to show opportunities across the site master plan. They were developed following further discussions and consideration of future expansion for each user and the high importance to provide a new admin building for RCHT Staff.
KTA began with studying the existing schedule of accommodation to understand the current situation and how much of K Spa is being occupied by each user.
The ten feasibility options that followed on from this were highly informed by this analysis.
Both University of Exeter and University of Plymouth have disclosed that the growth in number of students within the coming years is likely to increase therefore it has been an important part of the studies which we have considered. Options included refurbishment, extension and new build.
