Plymouth West End Health and Wellbeing Centre
KTA were beyond delighted to have won this exciting and pioneering net-zero-carbon project where modern methods of construction will form a key part of the delivery of the development.
Plymouth is one of six pilot locations selected as a pioneer for the next generation of integrated community health and wellbeing centres. The building provides an opportunity for joined up health and care services including voluntary, mental health, primary care, dental and community groups under one roof. This enable the all-important care in the heart of the community closer to patients’ home providing a holistic offer to the local residents and addressing the wider determinants of health.
The site selected is within a deprived area in the West End of Plymouth. Colin Campbell Court is in much need of regeneration and this project is considered as the catalyst for future master planning opportunities for the surrounding area.
We have been fully integrated within the team and orchestrated the multiple stakeholder engagement process including Plymouth City Council.
In line with the national programme, the various services have been grouped into the following adjacencies;
- Public space & Pharmacy
- Primary Care & GP Services co-located
- Mental Health
- Clinical UHP Services
- Diagnostics
- 3rd/Voluntary Sector and Group Rooms
- Dentistry
- Shared Administration and Staff Areas
Planning approval was received in May 2022. Contractor selection will be made early 2022 and start on site early 2023 with an 18month build programme.
